Lugar is starting an internship program with the University of Indianapolis that will operate out of Washington. He has also agreed to deliver a handful of lectures each year as a distinguished professor at the private university.

A university official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to publicly discuss the matter before a Friday afternoon announcement. The official says Lugar will split his time between Washington and Indianapolis in the new job.

Lugar lost a grueling Republican primary battle in May to tea party-backed state treasurer Richard Mourdock. Since then, Lugar has traveled overseas talking about his nuclear disarmament program.

Write A Powerful Resume And Cover Letter | joealdegueronline.com

Just about everybody who is considering a new job, or curious about securing a more fitting job, realizes that securing a first-rate, substantial resume essentially means the difference between securing a job and not securing a job. It?s likely you will need to have a resume that is made properly which will express you, your job aptitudes, including your know-how.

?

Having in hand a smart looking resume is extremely essential when looking for a job that it needs to be your main concern. There are all sorts of approaches you can begin creating a resume that functions, but there is no miracle working ingredients for a resume that will perform regularly. But an excellent way to get started is to get yourself a resume sample and have a go at crafting a resume.

?

The preference really is up to you how you produce a resume, however there are particular subtleties which you will likely want to be contained within your resume that each and every single interviewer searches for.

?

It is simple to construct a resume that performs well, but it is crucial that you do not overlook things that make your resume most effective. This one or two page document discusses you, your skills, your know-how, your college education, and also your feats.

?

It is the very first thing that a prospective recruiter will see just before he or she sees you, so you want it to literally be convincing and make them choose to grab the telephone and ring you for a meeting!

?

There are all sorts of schools of thought relating to how a resume needs to look, what details it must be composed of, and the best ways to put it together. Even so, nearly all business people agree that when they go over a resume of a prospective employee, they want the resume to be succinct, relevant, and easy to browse.

?

Whichever belief you, as a job candidate, acknowledge, you will also want your resume to be what a likely company hopes to see. That is the key reason why you desire as much important information regarding resumes as possible so you can have a document that you can be happy to produce as an introduction to you and what you can offer for an employer.

?

But also remember, every good resume should be escorted by a similarly good cover letter. An increasing amount of employers now a days are anticipating, and even necessitating resume cover letters to accompany all job applications. The mix of a good resume and cover letter can generate a solid impression and clinch you a call or even job.

?

Don?t underestimate the strength and efficiency of an excellent resume and cover letter, take your time, construct a high quality resume and be persistent. Take note of the unique ideas and sections that recruiters mention amid your interview and strive to make the entire resume emulate the same aspects as those portions, for the reason that they are obviously getting noticed.

?

As a final quick tip, when drafting your resume, use good plain white paper and a legible font. The font should be plainly readable and large enough to view without an excessive amount of difficulty.

Liverpool through to Europa League knockout stage

By DANIELLA MATAR

Associated Press Sports

updated 4:54 p.m. ET Dec. 6, 2012

Liverpool is through to the knockout stage of the Europa League after exacting winning 1-0 at already eliminated Udinese on Thursday.

Jordan Henderson scored midway through the first half to help avenge the 3-2 loss to the Italian side at Anfield in October.

When Young Boys of Switzerland beat already-qualified Anzhi Makhachkala of RussIa 3-1, Liverpool won Group A. All three teams finished with 10 points, but Liverpool had the best head-to-head record, followed by Anzhi.

Stuttgart also advanced despite an embarrassing 1-0 defeat at home to Molde. It was runner-up to Group E winner Steaua Bucharest after the Romanian side drew 1-1 at Copenhagen. Stuttgart edged Copenhagen on head-to-head.

Udinese had a couple of decent chances before Liverpool took the lead in the 23rd minute with its first real opportunity. Luis Suarez headed on a corner and Suso passed it back for Henderson to rifle in through a crowd.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Daniele Padelli pulled off several fantastic saves - denying Henderson and Suarez - to keep qualification still in question for Liverpool, which knew it had to at least match Young Boys' result.

Udinese's Giovanni Pasquale was sent off late on for a second bookable offence.

It almost went badly wrong for Liverpool in stoppage time as Antonio Di Natale sent a shot skimming over the crossbar with the last kick of the game.

In Switzerland, Gonzalo Zarate gave Young Boys the lead in the 38th when his initial shot ricocheted around the area and back to him to slot home from a tight angle.

Anzhi Makhachkala leveled in first-half stoppage time with a controversial equalizer. Young Boys called loudly for offside but Odil Ahmedov appeared to be level as he received the ball, turned and fired in.

Moreno Costanzo doubled Young Boys' lead eight minutes after the break after Anzhi failed to deal with a cross.

Anzhi striker Lacina Traore was sent off 20 minutes from time for a second bookable offence before Alexander Gonzalez added a third for the home side in stoppage time.

In the tight Group E, Steaua only needed a point to advance and was reduced to 10 men at the start of the second half when Cristian Tanase was sent off for a second yellow card.

Raul Rusescu gave it the lead with a stunning shot from outside the area which took a slight deflection as it curled into the right side of the goal.

Copenhagen leveled three minutes from time through Igor Vetokele, but it was too little too late.

At Stuttgart, Davy Claude Angan ran from inside his own half to score the only goal in first-half stoppage time for Norway's Molde.

Only two other berths were open to make the last 32. In the late games, Tottenham and Panathinaikos played for a spot in Group J, and FC Basel and Videoton fought for the last spot in Group G.

Elsewhere, competition top-scorer Edinson Cavani scored his seventh in Napoli's 3-2 loss at home to PSV Eindhoven. Tim Matavz netted a hat trick to inflict Napoli's first home defeat in European competition in 18 years.

Also, defending champion Atletico Madrid lost 1-0 at Plzen.

In other results, it was; Dnipro 4, AIK Solna 1; Hapoel Tel-Aviv 2, Academica 0; Limassol 3, Marseille 0; Fenerbahce 0, Borussia Moenchengladbach 3; Bordeaux 2, Newcastle 0; and Maritimo 2, Club Bruges 1.

Opposition to meet over Egypt president's talks offer

CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt's opposition coalition, the National Salvation Front, will meet on Friday to review a call by President Mohamed Mursi for a national dialogue to resolve a crisis after his decision to expand his powers, a leading opposition politician said.

In a televised speech late on Thursday, Mursi proposed a meeting on Saturday with political leaders, "revolutionary youth" and legal figures to discuss the way forward after a referendum on a new constitution set for December 15.

Seven people were killed and hundreds injured this week in clashes around the presidential palace which followed Mursi's November 22 decree that awarded himself extra powers and his decision to rush through a new constitution, written by an Islamist-dominated assembly that was opposed by liberals and others.

"We have decided to meet this afternoon and discuss the whole issue and the proposal and speech by the president. We want a collective stand on that," Amr Moussa, a presidential candidate and former Arab League chief, told Reuters, adding the precise time had yet to be finalized.

Opposition groups have called for protests on Friday against Mursi and his decree. One prominent protest movement has rejected the president's offer of talks.

Among the demands of the liberal-leaning Front, Moussa said the opposition coalition believed a referendum on a draft constitution should be delayed.

"We consider that the referendum at that date will not enable the people to address the constitution and read it and exchange views on it and make their proposals," Moussa said.

The Front would also consider Mursi's comments suggesting he was ready to reconsider elements of his decree. "The mood is still very solid on the demands that we have expressed and stressed," Moussa said.

The Front, which alongside Moussa includes prominent figures such as former U.N. diplomat Mohamed ElBaradei and popular leftist Hamdeen Sabahy, has previously demanded Mursi scrap his decree, postpone the referendum and redraft the constitution.

Cisco grabs for 'No. 1 IT company' crown

(AP) ? Cisco Systems Inc. isn't content to be the world's largest maker of computer networking gear. It says it wants to become the "No. 1" supplier of information technology to big businesses by broadening its offerings of services and software.

But when Cisco says "No. 1 IT company," it doesn't mean that it's going to be the biggest-selling company. That goal is out of reach, as IBM Corp. outsells Cisco 2-to-1.

Rather, Cisco CEO John Chambers says he wants the company to loom largest in the minds of its customers and to be the one setting the pace in the industry. Being No. 1, he says, means having the best customer satisfaction and the best profit margins for products.

The strategy statement, articulated Friday at a presentation for Wall Street analysts, follows some lean years that have seen Cisco retrench from even broader goals, which included trying to establish itself as a consumer brand and buying a maker of camcorders. The new direction will be supported by a global advertising campaign with the slogan "Tomorrow starts here." The ad campaign starts Monday.

"The play sounds a lot like the IBM story," Raymond James analyst Simon Leopold said. After the maker of mainframe computers struggled in the 1980s with the rise of cheap microprocessors and rapid changes in the industry, IBM successfully transformed itself into a company that combined consulting services, software and hardware.

The new playbook comes as Chambers, who is 63 and one of the longest-serving CEOs in Silicon Valley, is nearing retirement and looking for a successor.

Chambers told analysts that Cisco pulls in about $6 billion from software per year and plans to double that in the next three to five years. That's not a figure the company usually breaks out, as most of its software is deeply integrated into hardware such as routers and switches, which shunt data through networks.

Analysts at the meeting were unsure how to incorporate the figure into their models, and the company didn't give a lot of specifics on how it hoped to achieve that.

Analysts also questioned how Cisco hopes to be the top player when it doesn't sell the massive storage arrays that big companies need for their data. Chambers said Cisco will keep partnering with companies that do sell storage products, including IBM and EMC Corp.

Apart from IBM, Cisco's chief competitors for the "No. 1 IT" throne are Microsoft Corp., Oracle Corp., SAG AG and Hewlett-Packard Co. Cisco partners closely with them, except for HP.

Chambers said the company is sticking to its forecast of growing sales by 5 percent to 7 percent per year and its earnings slightly faster, at 7 percent to 9 percent per year. Both figures represent pullbacks from the past two decades, when the San Jose, Calif., company often grew sales by more than 10 percent per year.

Cisco's stock fell 18 cents, or nearly 1 percent, to $19.30 in afternoon trading Friday.

New course helps students explore intimate communication

For generations, people have been told that discussing sex is taboo ? that nice people, especially women, don?t talk about it, even with their husbands.

image: Microsoft.com

In the 21st century, however, open, frank discussion about sex increasingly is seen as necessary for the establishment and maintenance of healthy adult relationships.

That?s why Dr. Jessica Kratzer, assistant professor in the MTSU Department of Speech and Theatre, calls the new ?Sex and Communication? class her ?dream course.?

Kratzer designed the first half of her course to track sexual communication through the life course, beginning with parent-child relationships and progressing through dating relationships, married and long-term couples and sex among the elderly.

Her students watched ?Still Doing It,? a documentary in which nine senior citizens talk openly and frankly about their sex lives.

?They had these mixed emotions, like, you know, ?I can?t believe people in their 80s still have sex,?? Kratzer said of her students? reactions. ?But, at the same time ? they hope that they?re still able to do that when they get older.?

Dr. Jessica Kratzer

One of the students? assignments was to interview two people about their sexual experiences ? willing subjects who the students most likely would have known before signing up for the class. Kratzer said the students used pseudonyms for the participants in their papers.

?I think a lot of people feel embarrassed about their sexual pasts or unsure about how their partners will feel about their sexual pasts, even if they feel OK with it,? Kratzer said.

Other people just don?t want to risk hurting their partners? feelings, the professor added. But one theory about communications breakdowns Kratzer won?t accept is the ?Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus? mentality.

?That book I find to be ridiculous and based on complete stereotypes,? Kratzer said of the best-seller by relationship counselor John Gray.

Nothing about relationships between men and women or the differences between masculinity and femininity is that simplistic, the professor said.

?One isn?t better than the other,? she added. ?It?s nice when they can complement each other and work well off each other.?

Discussions about sexual communication take on new dimensions when talking about new technology. For example, Kratzer said, there?s not that much research on ?sexting? available because it?s relatively new. But she said people tend to have more courage in talking about sex when they can hide behind technology.

?It?s so much easier to say things via a text message or an e-mail, because you don?t have to face that person,? Kratzer observed. ?You don?t have to look them in their eyes.?

image: Microsoft.com

She also has reservations about the wisdom of those who post their sexual history on Facebook. She doesn?t necessarily find speed dating problematic, though.

?I don?t see anything wrong with it as long as people are going in with the mindset that they may not find their perfect match,? Kratzer said.

By exploring various perspectives in class, Kratzer said she hopes her students will find that there?s more to sex than just sex.

?I?m hoping that my students really understand the broad spectrum of communication and sex and, when we talk about sex, it doesn?t have to be the act itself,? she said.

The Sex and Communications course, COMM 4800, is a special topics class that debuted this semester and can be offered again periodically at the department?s discretion.

Sport - Football: Striker won?t be risked if not fit

King?s Lynn Town manager Gary Setchell says striker Russell Dunkley will not be risked if there is an element of doubt over his fitness.

The Linnets host basement boys Hucknall Town at The Walks tomorrow, where the talismanic frontman will undergo a rigorous fitness test before the game.

Dunkley has made good progress since limping off after nine minutes of the 1-1 draw at Leek Town, but Setchell said: ?Russell responded very well to treatment on Wednesday but in a situation like this common sense has to prevail.

?If he plays and his hamstring goes again we could lose him for anything up to six week, so if there?s any doubt then he won?t play.?

Despite their big FA Trophy against AFC Telford being a week away, Setchell wants his players to remain focused on the league.

?Our FA Trophy run is on the mind of everyone and is turning people?s heads, but my job is to keep the players? minds focused on the bread and butter of the league.

?The table is still in great shape for us, but we?ve got to make sure that we cement our place in the play-off position by picking up points when we play in the league.

?I don?t think it will be anything like the Hucknall team who we beat earlier in the season, so we must not get complacent.?

Striker Sam Mulready is back in contention for a starting spot, while Danny Beaumont is a fortnight away from making a return.

Hucknall ended a run of 11 games without a win with a 4-2 win at Market Drayton on Saturday, a run which included a 9-1 home reverse against Coalville.

They have made a number of signings in recent weeks, including former Lynn midfielder Emeka Nwadike.
